Scleral lenses with wavefront optics can correct higher-order aberrations (HOAs) from the posterior cornea, phakic lens, or vitreous that limit visual acuity. Customized wavefront optics helped a patient with corneal ectasia achieve improved visual function, as demonstrated by a recent paper.
