Plant Extract Tested for Hair Growth

Share

In a double-blind, 56-day randomized controlled trial involving 60 participants, a topical formulation combining Centella asiatica extracellular vesicles, recombinant insulin growth factor-1, and fibroblast growth factor-7 significantly enhanced hair growth parameters. The study, conducted at HungKuang University in Taiwan, demonstrated that the complete formulation led to notable increases in hair shaft thickness, density, and length, alongside a reduction in sebum content and hair loss. The findings suggest a promising new approach to scalp care, combining growth factors with plant-derived components, although limitations in study duration and demographics were acknowledged.
