Corticosteroid Use Linked to Weight, Waist Gains

Long-term use of corticosteroids, including locally administered types, is associated with small but statistically significant increases in body weight and waist circumference. Female individuals and those with overweight or obesity are notably affected. The study demonstrates that both local and systemic corticosteroids can lead to long-term changes in body weight and central adiposity.
