Former Doc Accused of Murder-for-Hire, Sentenced for Distribution

Dr. Anatoly Braylovsky, an internal medicine physician, has been sentenced to 90 months in federal prison for illegal distribution of controlled substances and health care fraud. He attempted to hire a hitman to intimidate a confidential informant while awaiting trial. Despite warnings and ongoing investigations, Dr. Braylovsky continued to issue large quantities of controlled substances, exchanging prescriptions for cash without performing necessary examinations. His practice received over $1.6 million from Medicare and Medicaid for fraudulent prescriptions and billing. Braylovsky's illicit activities involved the illicit distribution of oxycodone and health care fraud. This case involved a wide array of law enforcement agencies and implicated other individuals as well.
