Can Apps Improve Urgent Care Diagnoses?

Share

A cluster-randomized trial conducted at two German urgent care practices found that using a digital medical history application before consultations did not enhance diagnostic accuracy, which stood at 58.4% overall. The study involved 986 patients from March 2022 to February 2023, with participants entering symptom data into the application prior to their visits. The findings indicate no significant differences in diagnostic agreement between those who used the app before or after consultations, as further factors like physician specialty and patient demographics yielded no benefits from the application use.
