Online Photo Diagnosis: Dimple Veiling

Share

A 42-year-old woman with high myopia experienced issues with her corneal GP lenses during follow-up, showing signs of dimple veiling and air bubbles on examination. The dimple veiling was identified as small air bubbles that indent the cornea, causing sodium fluorescein pooling. While typically not concerning, severe occurrences can affect vision. The patient’s lens fit was steep, leading to lens adjustments to address the issue. Improvement of the lens fit can mitigate dimple veiling, particularly in irregular corneas. References were made to prior work on contact lens complications.
