Artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to revolutionize oncology care by providing personalized treatment strategies. Despite historical skepticism regarding AI's role in clinical practice, advancements in data access, algorithms, and technology have led to practical applications, notably in cancer diagnostics and treatment selection. Dr. Ruijiang Li’s research focuses on using AI for predicting responses to immune checkpoint inhibitors in gastroesophageal cancer, demonstrating significant improvements in treatment outcome predictions. However, ethical and legal challenges remain as AI systems become integrated into clinical care.
