COPD: CT Imaging Aligns With Eosinophils

Share

Higher blood eosinophil counts in COPD patients correlate with reduced bronchial thickening and improved lung function, as revealed in a study involving 448 patients from a tertiary hospital in China. The research highlights that eosinophil levels of at least 2%, 150/µL, or 300/µL correspond to better pulmonary metrics such as lower emphysema index and improved forced vital capacity. Despite limitations such as a small sample size, the findings may enhance eosinophil-based risk stratification in COPD treatment.
