RNACOREX is a newly developed computational tool designed to pinpoint disease-associated RNA regulatory networks, utilizing gene expression data to classify patient samples. By analyzing microRNA (miRNA) and messenger RNA (mRNA) interactions, it overcomes the challenges of false positives found in large databases. Incorporating both structural and functional scores for interactions, RNACOREX uses probabilistic models to provide interpretable classification results. Evaluated against data from 13 cancer types, it offers insights into RNA interactions that can guide biomarker prioritization, although clinical utility remains to be established.
