A nationwide cohort study conducted in Taiwan investigated the long-term health risks of patients conceived via assisted reproductive technology (ART). The study analyzed data from 69,785 first-born children delivered between 2004 and 2014, revealing that ART-conceived patients faced an 8% to 15% higher risk of developing asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis compared to naturally conceived counterparts. Notably, the study also suggested that procedures like the use of fresh embryos correlated with increased risks of allergies. These findings emphasize the necessity for ongoing monitoring of children conceived through ART.
