Hypercementosis Progression With Evidence of Acquired Concrescence: A Case Report

Share

This case report highlights a 62-year-old female patient with generalized hypercementosis leading to root concrescence, complicating potential dental extractions. Hypercementosis, defined as excessive cementum growth, can either be idiopathic or associated with local/systemic factors. The patient's history showed no significant systemic conditions, but periodic dental examinations revealed progressive cementum deposition. The case raises concerns regarding treatment planning and the importance of recognizing concrescence to avoid complications during dental procedures.
