Shining a Light into the ADC Conjugation Black Box

Share

Hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) has been an essential method for characterizing antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), yet its use in real-time monitoring has been limited. Researchers from Genentech, led by Bingchuan Wei, have developed a novel approach using ammonium tartrate to maintain HIC performance while allowing compatibility with mass spectrometry. This innovation enables real-time analysis of ADC reactions and enhances understanding of bioconjugation processes. This study illustrates the importance of agile analytical methods in improving efficiency and product quality in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
