Radiography Course Broadens RNs’ Understanding

A longitudinal phenomenographic study published in the Journal of Radiology Nursing explored how a structured course in evidence-based radiography (EBR) influenced the perceptions of experienced registered nurses towards EBR. While participants shifted from viewing EBR strictly as a research-centric tool to recognizing its practical application for quality improvement, they faced numerous barriers, including time constraints and lack of managerial support. The study emphasizes that for high-quality patient care, organizational commitment and effective leadership are crucial for the successful implementation of EBR in clinical settings.
