A multicenter randomized trial involving 466 adults aged 45 years or older evaluated the effects of compartment-specific knee bracing on symptomatic knee osteoarthritis. After 6 months, participants who received bracing alongside standard care reported significant improvements in the Knee Osteoarthritis Outcomes Score, particularly in pain and daily activities. However, benefits began to diminish by 12 months, and adherence to brace use declined over time. Despite some adverse events, this approach shows promise in managing knee OA symptoms. Conducted across four regions in England, the study's findings highlight the necessity for further research to validate these results.
