Research from United European Gastroenterology Week 2025 indicates that robot-assisted liver resection significantly reduces postoperative complications compared to traditional open surgery while achieving similar oncological outcomes. The study, led by Dr. Alexander Wilk and his team in Germany, analyzed data from 185 patients who underwent liver surgeries from 2010 to 2024. Results showed that major complications and median blood loss were notably lower with robotic techniques, suggesting benefits in perioperative recovery, especially in complex cases.
