On January 22, 2026, the United States officially withdrew from the World Health Organization (WHO) after raising concerns about its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and governance issues. This withdrawal, initiated in January 2025 during the Trump administration, included the cessation of funding and removal of personnel.
